What is CBD vape juice?
CBD vape juice is CBD that is made for vaping. It mostly consists of PG, VG, CBD extract, terpenes and other minor cannabinoids. It is made specifically for inhalation. CBD vape juice is also referred to as e-liquid or e-juice. It is sometimes referred to as “CBD vape oil”, but it does not contain any oil.
What are the types of CBD vape juice?
CBD vape juice is available in three different forms known as full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolate.
Full-spectrum CBD vape juice is made with 100% hemp and will contain traces of no more than 0.3% THC. It is a CBD rich product that will contain a full profile of organic compounds such as other cannabinoids and terpenes. It often offers stronger and longer lasting effects known as the “entourage effect”.
Broad-spectrum CBD vape juice is made with 100% hemp. It does not contain THC as it is extracted by a process known as chromatography. It may contain a wide array of other cannabinoids, as well as terpenes for flavor and effects, and/or other organic compounds.
CBD Isolate vape juice is a pure and highly concentrated form of cannabidiol (CBD). It undergoes a distillation process in which the CBD is isolated from the rest of the hemp plant extracts.
Does vaping CBD juice get you high?
Vaping CBD juice will not get you high. The CBD used for vaping is derived from 100% industrial hemp. It can legally contain no more than 0.3% THC per the 2018 Hemp Farming Act and this amount is in no way near enough to get anyone high.
How do I choose the best CBD vape juice?
One must be meticulous when purchasing CBD vape products. Some companies are not reputable and their products may contain less CBD than advertised or worse, contain synthetic chemicals and contaminants that may be harmful.
The most advantageous way to choose the best CBD vape products is not complicated, but requires you to do some investigating. When you choose a brand, it is best to inquire where their hemp is sourced from. The best quality hemp is grown in the United States in Oregon, Colorado and Kentucky. Northern Europe is also known as a reputable source for hemp.
Always look for third-party lab results to verify cannabinoid content, THC levels, residual solvents and/or contaminants. Companies usually place the Certificate of Analysis (COA) on their websites. The most common is the cannabinoid analysis that gives details on whether the product is a full-spectrum, broad-spectrum or isolate, and the milligrams of CBD in the extract. The amount of CBD in milligrams on the COA should be close to what is printed on the product label. Finding the COA will verify all the important aspects of the CBD’s purity, potency and safety.
Once you have verified those aspects of the vape juice, the rest involves simply having fun choosing the right flavor for your specific palate and the proper potency for your needs. If you know that you will be vaping at only certain times of the day, then choose a higher potency vape juice. If you will be vaping more often throughout your day, choose a lower potency.
Higher levels of PG offer a stronger flavor transfer and a stronger throat hit like that of smoking. VG will be smoother and will create more vapor. It is usually best to start with a vape juice that has an even ratio of PG/VG.
